Faith basics
At Calvary Chapel of Aiken, we adhere to and teach the following basic foundations of faith - the doctrine....
  • That the Bible is the inspired, inerrant, and authoritative Word of God.
  • That there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
  • Of the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, of His virgin birth, of His sinless life, of His miracles, of His vicarious and atoning death, of His bodily resurrection, of His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and of His personal future return to this earth in power and glory.
  • Of the Blessed Hope--the rapture of the Church at Christ’s coming.
  • That the only means of being cleansed from sin is through the precious blood of the Lord Jesus Christ.
  • That regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential for ongoing sanctification.
  • Of water baptism and observance of the Lord’s Supper as sacraments ordained by the Lord Jesus Christ, but not required for salvation.
  • That the redemptive work of Christ on the cross provides healing of the human body in answer to believing prayer.
  • Of the Baptism of the Holy Spirit.
  • That the Holy Spirit gives every believer gifts as He wills, and that all the gifts of the Spirit are still in operation in today’s Church.
  • That belief in the Lord Jesus Christ’s death and in His bodily resurrection as the only means of salvation.
  • Of the need for the continual filling of the Holy Spirit whose indwelling gives Christians the sanctifying power to live a holy life.
  • Of the resurrection of both the saved and the lost, the saved to everlasting life and the lost to everlasting damnation.
